Dannii Minogue, Kris Smith show united front

Dannii Minogue and Kris Smith have shown a united front with a public appearance.

The couple, who have 11-month-old son Ethan together, put rumours of problems in their relationship to rest by appearing on the red carpet together at the launch of Rivoli Cinema's Gold Class last night.

Although the pair declined to discuss their relationship, some onlookers described them as "noticeably awkward". Others, however, said that they "showed no signs of any strain as they smile and stayed close to one another", seeming "relaxed and calm" as they posed for waiting photographers.

Minogue and Smith were first believed to have split when they posted mottos about love and forgiveness on their Twitter pages. Various sources also said that they were struggling to balance their work and home lives.

They later released a joint statement saying that they are still "committed" to their relationship but insiders have since claimed that Smith walked out on Minogue three weeks ago due to her making him feel like a member of her "staff".

Other stars at last night's event included singer Kate Alexa and former Neighbours stars Kimberley Davies and Tottie Goldsmith.

Minogue recently wrote on Twitter that she was "over the moon" at being crowned 'TV Personality of the Year' at the Glamour Women of the Year awards earlier this week.

Other winners at the event included Davina McCall for 'Presenter of the Year', Dawn French for 'Writer of the Year' and Fearne Cotton for 'Radio Personality of the Year'.
