George Clooney girlfriend: 'I believe in marriage'

George Clooney's long-term girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis has confessed that she wants to get married one day.

The Italian model, who began dating Clooney in 2009, told Chi magazine that while she is satisfied with the couple's current relationship, it is important for her to tie the knot in the future.

"I am very happy at the moment - thanks to my man and my fairytale is continuing," she said. "We are a couple that never gets bored.

"I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am. I don't need anything to confirm how happy I am."

Canalis previously claimed that she and Clooney would never have children but has since admitted that those plans may change.

"My maternal instinct has not kicked in yet. My mother says when it does, it will be like a lightening bolt," she told the publication.

Clooney has previously insisted that he will never get married again following his 1993 divorce from Talia Balsam.
