During an appearance on The View, the heiress was forced to defend a comment made during the premiere episode of her reality show The World According To Paris, wherein she expressed concern over having to spend time with prisoners as she carried out community service.
After View co-host Barbara Waters criticised her attitude toward community service on air, an angry Hilton reportedly screamed at the daytime talkshow's producers for allowing Walter's line of questions.
Hilton has now insisted that she never yelled at View bosses, telling E! News: "Those were all rumours... as usual. I think [Walters and her co-hosts] hadn't seen the show. They had only seen a clip where I'm complaining about my community service... You know, I'm not going to wake up at 6 in the morning and be all excited, 'Yeah, I'm doing community service!'"
She continued: "I basically said it sucks, and I was being honest. I think they were offended by that, but I'm not really sure. I think [the matter] was really blown out of proportion. It wasn't that big of a deal. I wasn't screaming at producers backstage."
Hilton also acknowledged that she expected to face tough questions during her View appearance, but suggested that Walters's comments were uninformed.
The reality star said: "I've known [Walters] for years, and I really respect her as a journalist. I know that she has to ask questions like that. I think she should actually watch the show, then she'd understand more."
The heiress previously appeared on The View on two occasions in 2005 and 2006.
Hilton recently revealed that she lives in constant fear of being attacked when she's out in public.
