Neil Patrick Harris: 'Expect Tony Spider-Man jokes'

Neil Patrick Harris has opened up about his return to hosting the Tony Awards.

It was announced in May that the How I Met Your Mother star would be hosting the awards show for the second time. The actor previously hosted the Tonys in 2009.

Harris discussed what to expect from the upcoming show, stating that the long-delayed Spider-Man musical will feature in a number of his jokes, according to Pop Eater.

"I think there will be the inevitable Spider-Man jokes," said Harris. "I don't know just how far we will go down that path."

However, the 37-year-old went on to clarify that he will not be wearing a Spider-Man suit for the show.

"No, Sean Hayes wore one last year so I'm free," said Harris when asked if he had been fitted for the webslinger's costume. "I'm not the biggest fan of silly costumes on hosts."

The actor and his partner David Burtka celebrated the birth of two adopted baby twins in October of last year.

Harris can be seen next in The Smurfs opposite Jayma Mays and Hank Azaria.

The Smurfs will be released in 3D on July 29.
