Jennifer Garner: 'Alec Baldwin should be mayor'

Jennifer Garner has voiced her support for Alec Baldwin should he decide to enter politics.

Baldwin has reportedly expressed an interest in running for the mayoral office in New York City following a recent Twitter scandal involving New York Congressman Anthony Weiner.

A friend of the 30 Rock actor told The Daily: "Alec said, 'Hey, maybe this changes the race. The dynamics have shifted'. The Democrats need a high-profile candidate, and Alec can fill that bill."

While Baldwin himself has neither confirmed nor denied the story, Garner told Fox and Friends that she and husband Ben Affleck would stand behind Baldwin should he actually run for office.

"I think he should go for it. He can run and let people vote. I stand up for Alec Baldwin," she said. "Ben Affleck stands up for Alec Baldwin."

Baldwin recently claimed that acting is like any other job, though he confessed that some roles do "get under [his] skin".
