The 'Price Tag' singer said that it is much more important to her that she be a good role model than to be a celebrity in the traditional sense.
"The other day I went out with no make-up on and people were like, 'Woah! Jessie J wears no make-up'," the 23-year-old musician said, according to Metro. "I was like, 'Do you seriously think I wake up looking like this?'"
"The fame aspect doesn't bother me. I never came into this to be a celebrity," she insisted. "I want to be a role model."
Jessie J made the comments at this year's Glamour Women of the Year Awards, where she was presented with the award for 'Woman of Tomorrow'.
It was recently confirmed that the singer will serve as the support act for several of Katy Perry's upcoming US shows after hitting it off with the 'E.T.' musician.
