Nick Lachey 'ready to start family with Minnillo'

Nick Lachey has said that he wants to start a family with fiancée Vanessa Minnillo sometime soon.

The former boyband member has revealed he feels ready to be a father, despite Minnillo's recent claims that the couple were in no rush to start having children.

"I'd like to be a dad sooner than later," Lachey admitted to Parade. "I'm getting up there."

The singer said he has been feeling the pressure lately due to the fact that his brother Drew Lachey already has two children.

"I'm at a point in my life where I'm ready to start another chapter," Lachey explained. "Having kids is a big part of that.

"Life is a journey and I'm certainly ready to close this chapter and move on to the next."

The couple announced their engagement in November 2010 and, although no official wedding date has been revealed, said the wedding will be happening 'soon'.
