It would appear that the age old feud between boy bands Take That and East 17 is still going strong.
Tony Mortimer, songwriter for East 17 has unleashed a bizarre attack on the newly reformed Take That, denouncing them as a "trumped up Village People tribute band".
He also accused the band of living off the back of Robbie Williams' name: “Would there be that much interest in Take That if they hadn’t played the Robbie card?” he asked.
However he doesn't have much room for these type of comments, going on the two groups' recent success. Take That have all but sold out their current nationwide tour, initially selling 250,000 tickets in just 30 minutes.
Mortimer's band, however, has only managed to sell out one night at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire as part of their comeback.
