A series of postings appeared on the 'Kiss Me Thru the Phone' rapper's Facebook account last weekend in which someone purporting to be Soulja Boy criticised white Americans, writing: "IM TIRED OF WHITE PEOPLE DOING US LIKE THIS MAN!! THEY TREAT US SO WRONG!! f**k THEM. (sic)"
Another message evoked homophobic language by referring the hip-hop star's critics as "white f*ggots".
Soulja Boy has denied responsibility for the remarks, claiming that his Facebook account's security was compromised by malicious hackers.
The musician told TMZ: "I wanted to clear the air and let everyone know that my Facebook got hacked. I had administrators on my account that no longer work with me. The hackers used these old accounts to post hateful messages. This was not done by me or anyone on my team and I'm upset that I am being labeled as a racist and homophobic person."
Soulja Boy has scored a US number one platinum-selling album and five US Top 40 singles since releasing his debut single 'Crank That' in 2007.
In March, he openly mourned when his half-brother Deion Jenkins died after sustaining injuries in a car accident.
