George Michael wants a small wedding

George Michael has revealed that wants his upcoming marriage to partner Kenny Goss to be a modest celebration.

The singer is keen to avoid the spectacle of rival Elton John's extravagant wedding, which involved a £1.1 million, 600-guest reception.

Speaking on TV show Parkinson, he said: "I think we'll just do the formal legal thing and then we'll have a party. But no one's going to be getting into a dress! Neither of us has the body for it, you know."

He continued: "I think from a legal point of view it's essential to have the same safeguards that straight couples have. We've been together for 10 years. I think we're entitled to that."

Michael's new tour also recently sold out in three hours, and the two events have left the star feeling positive. A source told People: "He's thrilled. Just over the moon."
