Christina Aguilera on divorce: 'We weren't angels'

Christina Aguilera has opened up about her divorce from Jordan Bratman.

The 'Not Myself Tonight' singer hinted in an interview with W Magazine that both she and her ex-husband had been unfaithful during their five years of marriage.

"At one time or another we were both not angels. It got to a point where our life at home was reminding me of my own childhood," Aguilera said. "I will not have my son grow up in a tension-­filled home.

"I knew there would be a negative reaction in the press to my divorce, but I am not ­going to live my life because of something someone might say. That goes against everything I sing on my records. I have to be myself."

Aguilera's split from Bratman was first reported in October of last year, though the pair had apparently been separated for months. The two have a 3-year-old son named Max.

The 30-year-old said in May that her son is very protective of her, stating that the toddler does not even like seeing his mother get her make-up done.

Aguilera is currently dating set designer Matthew Rutler, whom she has described as "lovely".
