Paris Hilton, Cy Waits on verge of splitting?

Paris Hilton and boyfriend Cy Waits are reportedly struggling to maintain their romance.

Just last month, Hilton insisted that she and Waits were "so happy" to be nearing their year-and-a-half anniversary as a couple.

However, a source close to the heiress has now indicated that the pair are on the verge of separating, telling the New York Post's Page Six that Waits is having difficulty coping with "the spotlight and the attention and stress on the relationship that comes with it".

Hilton is apparently determined to focus on her reality series The World According to Paris and doesn't want her boyfriend "to hold her back", a second insider added.

Waits has denied any suggestion that he and Hilton plan to separate, insisting to the newspaper: "We're great. I love her more than ever."

A rep for Hilton declined to offer any comment.

Prior to dating Waits, Hilton had been linked to a string of celebrities including model Jason Shaw, Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter and Good Charlotte frontman Benji Madden.
