Kelsey Grammer 'email account hacked'

Kelsey Grammer has claimed that a hacker took control of his personal email account and sent out a bizarre message about his ex-wife Camille to several friends.

The Grammers divorced earlier this year and are currently in the midst of a legal battle over the custody of their two children Mason and Jude.

Several of Kelsey's friends received an email yesterday purported to be written by the actor, in which he said that his ex-wife Camille "smells like beef jerkey (sic)".

The former Frasier star sent out an apology soon after, alleging that "third parties" parties had access to his email service and used the account "without [his] knowledge, consent or authority", adding: "May I suggest that it is 'they' who owe you an apology."

A rep for Kelsey confirmed to the New York Post's Page Six that the hack indeed took place, but chose not to offer any further comment.

Camille and Kelsey Grammer were married for 14 years before deciding to separate last summer.

Kelsey tied the knot with fourth wife Kayte Walsh at the Longacre Theatre on Broadway earlier this year.
