The Glee creator revealed in a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest earlier today that he is getting married to his partner of 15 years.
"I'm with a great fellow now who I've known for 15 years," Murphy said. "We just got engaged and I'm very excited about it!"
Murphy declined to provide the name of his fiancé.
The team behind Glee recently hired a new writing staff for the show's third season, adding several new individuals to a group that previously only included Murphy, Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk.
Glee star Matthew Morrison said in May that he expects changes in the Fox series, stating that some characters may leave the show in the near future.
Glee is scheduled to resume filming in August.
