Lisa Snowdon splits with England footballer

Lisa Snowdon has confirmed the end of her eight-month relationship with England footballer Jay Bothroyd.

The fashion model is believed to have split with the 28-year-old after her early-morning breakfast show stints on Capital FM left little time for their romance.

Snowdon's representative confirmed the separation to the Daily Mail, while the TV presenter herself appeared to have accepted the breakdown, stating during an interview with Easy Living Magazine that "life happens".

However, Snowdon did confess on Twitter that she was planning to jet off on holiday in order to "recharge" after the split.

"Off on holiday tomorrow Tweetfam," she wrote. "Got a million things to do today after the show..The list is as long as my arm! Will I get thru it all? (sic)

"Just to clarify you lil buggers... Went to Morocco for a long weekend, this is my 1st proper break for 9 months... Need 2 recharge.. "

Snowdon and Bothroyd are believed to have first met at an awards ceremony last year.

A source said at the start of their relationship: "Neither of them was looking for romance - they just got on incredibly well and things developed from there...They're smitten."

Snowdon previously opened up about her relationship with George Clooney, explaining that the Hollywood star was "too famous" to settle down with.
