Frank Lampard won't cheat, says Christine Bleakley mum

Christine Bleakley's mother has claimed that Frank Lampard won't cheat on her because he is a "nice guy".

The Chelsea footballer proposed to Bleakley while on holiday in Los Angeles last week. Speaking afterwards, the Daybreak presenter admitted that she "cried for about ten minutes" after becoming engaged.

"I'm certain he'll never cheat because he's a nice guy," Mina told The Sun. "He is no Ryan Giggs. I know footballers have this reputation, so people are wary, but Frank is not stupid."

She also confirmed that Lampard had spoken to both herself and Christine's father Ricky to seek approval, before popping the question to their daughter.

"He spoke to both of us," she said. "We said to him, 'That's brilliant. We know you are both good for each other'."

Reports have suggested that the pair are keen to avoid a "tacky celebrity wedding", which is likely to be held in Christine's Northern Ireland hometown of Newtownards.

"Christine wouldn't go for an over-the-top wedding," Mina added. "She is not one to show off."
