January Jones wanted pregnancy "very badly"

Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner has claimed that star January Jones wanted to have a baby "very badly".

Jones announced in April that she is currently pregnant with her first child and was said to be "happy" about becoming a single mother.

Weiner has now revealed that Jones has always shown an interest in starting a family and said that he has no doubts she will be an "amazing" mother.

"She's got a big heart and she's been talking about having children since I met her, which is not always common with actresses," Weiner told E! Online. "I think she's going to be amazing."

Jones has refused to name the child's father, though X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn was recently forced to deny rumours that he is the parent.

Jones previously dated Saturday Night Live actor Jason Sudeikis, though the couple broke up in January.
