Police confirmed that Coppola's Buenos Aires Hidden Garden hotel was held up earlier this week by thieves, who stole money and other valuable items, according to Telam.
An employee of the hotel revealed that no-one was injured during the heist.
Academy Award-winning director Coppola was not at the Hidden Garden at the time of the robbery.
The incident marks the second time the hotel has been robbed in recent years. In 2007, intruders stole film and computer equipment from the venue.
Coppola has spent a great deal of time in Argentina, even filming much of his 2009 drama Tetro in the country.
The filmmaker is currently working on the upcoming movie Twixt Now and Sunrise, which will reportedly star Val Kilmer and Elle Fanning. No release date for the project has been announced.
