Michelle Keegan and Max George have reportedly turned down a £250,000 offer from OK! magazine for the rights to their wedding.

The couple became engaged last month when the Wanted star proposed with a £10,000 ring and pet chihuahua.

"We thought they'd jump at the chance but they weren't having any of it," a source from the publication told the News of the World. "They just said they wanted this very special part of their lives to remain private."

George admitted: "Michelle and I are together because we want to be and nothing to do with the industry. I don't think about us as being part of a celebrity couple. I just see her as Michelle and she sees me as Max.

"Our work doesn't matter when it's just the two of us. When we go out we try and keep it as quiet as we can so it's just for us. The reality TV series about our lives is never going to happen.

"We cringe when we see a picture of ourselves together sometimes because we don't want to push that side of the relationship. Anyway, I don't have one of those luxury lovely homes that the magazines want to be invited into."

Keegan is said to be close to securing a £130,000-a-year deal to continue playing Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street.
