George Clooney 'wanted Canalis breakup for a while'

George Clooney was reportedly looking to break up from Elisabetta Canalis for the past month.

A friend of Clooney stated that the Ocean's Eleven actor was ready to split from Canalis weeks before the relationship actually ended, according to E! Online.

"He's been trying to figure out how to get out of this for a while," said the friend. "And let's face it, this always happens..."

The same friend went on to insist that the star has no plans to ever wed.

"He will never marry again," the insider claimed. "Ever."

Clooney was previously married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.

Clooney and Canalis are said to have argued constantly prior to breaking up, with a source claiming that the two had not been spending much time together prior to the split.

The couple announced their breakup in a joint statement released last week.

Canalis confessed in early June that she hoped to get married some day, stating that she is a firm believer in the institution.
