Jeff Goldblum 'splits from 26-year-old girlfriend'

Jeff Goldblum has apparently split from his 26-year-old girlfriend Lydia Hearst-Shaw.

The pair dated for several months, but a source told the New York Daily News that the 32-year age difference between the 58-year-old Goldblum and the fashion model was a strain on their romance.

The Morning Glory actor and Hearst-Shaw are believed to have mutually agreed to part company and no third parties are suspected to have played a role in the split, the insider added.

In possible reaction to the break-up, Lydia, an heir to the Hearst family fortune, tweeted an image of herself stabbing a tree which had been adorned with the word 'love'.

She also wrote: "Never let a fool kiss you, or a kiss fool you. –"

Before he began dating Hearst-Shaw, Goldblum had been married to Patricia Gaul for six years and later wed his The Fly co-star Geena Davis.

Goldblum will next star in the comedy Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie, which is expected to be released in 2012.
