Selena Gomez on meeting Shia LaBeouf: 'Best day ever'

Selena Gomez has posted a YouTube video showing her becoming starstruck at meeting Shia LaBeouf.

Gomez uploaded a video of herself bumping into LaBeouf in what appears to be the backstage area of a television studio on her Twitter account, with the message: "Best. Day. Ever."

The video shows Gomez approaching a dressing room believing that she is about to meet some fans only to be stunned to see LaBeouf inside, prompting her to immediately flee back outside into the corridor.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon star LaBeouf follows her out and after exchanging pleasantries the pair pose for a couple of photographs together.

After LaBeouf leaves, Gomez is seen telling her friend: "Oh my gosh, he's so handsome!"

Gomez has spoken about having a crush on LaBeouf in the past, revealing back in December that her idea of the "perfect boy" would be someone who looks like the actor.

Gomez said: "I don't have a perfect boy. I guess they need to be honest and they need to be someone who can really be myself around. Although, if they look identical to Shia LaBeouf that would be great! You should be out having fun when you're younger, not getting caught up in a committed relationship."

Gomez, who recently hosted the MuchMusic Video Awards, is currently promoting her third studio album When The Sun Goes Down, the follow-up to A Year Without Rain. The new record has already spawned hit single 'Who Says' and new track 'Like A Love Song'.

She can also be seen opposite Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy in the romantic mistaken identity comedy Monte Carlo, which opens July 1 in the US and August 24 in the UK.
