The Transformers: Dark of the Moon star compared popularity to a drug, claiming that celebrities like Robert Pattinson and Justin Bieber must feel all-powerful, according to an interview with the Italian magazine Un'Intervista.
"Popularity is like a drug," LaBeouf said. "I would not want the worldwide popularity of Robert Pattinson or Justin Bieber. Even if you don't reach those levels, it's hard not to feel at least a little almighty."
The actor previously stated that he does not want to be like Tom Cruise, asserting that he has no desire to be in the public eye all the time.
Harrison Ford recently described LaBeouf as a "f**king idiot" for publicly criticising Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is out now in US and UK cinemas.
