Plans to launch a computer game based on heist thriller Heat have been revealed.

The video game spin-off is expected to be confirmed at the 'Electronic Entertainment Expo' currently underway in Los Angeles.

The game will either be a prequel or a sequel to the 1995 film directed by Michael Mann, and computer game giants Titan Prods are hoping to get stars both Robert de Niro and Al Pacino on board for its production.

The president of Gearbox, a computer company set to help develop the ambitious game, said: "There is something about this concept I call 'hardcore heist' that has never really been done well in a video game, yet everybody on the planet has thought about robbing a bank at one or another."
