The Kills guitarist, who is engaged to supermodel Kate Moss, was asked by NME during an interview at Glastonbury last weekend about the funniest name that his band have ever put on their guestlist.
Hince then admitted that he had to use the made-up name to get into another group's show because his friend had put him on the list.
He said: "I went to a show once and it was my friend's band and they said to me 'Oh sorry mate, we were d**king around and you're on the list as Gay Vegan or Billy Gay Vegan. So I went and I was, like, to the guy on the door 'Gay Vegan?' And he said no, so I had to go again 'Billy Gay Vegan?'"
Moss was recently banned from attending Pulp's surprise performance at Glastonbury. Looking "dishevelled", she was photographed by The Mail On Sunday trying to "reason" with a large bouncer outside the Park Stage.
When Hince and Moss got engaged in February, she reportedly banned him from drinking alcohol in a bid to get pregnant with their first child together.
