Billy Ray Cyrus: 'I've had many struggles'

Billy Ray Cyrus has said that his family is attempting to put aside any past struggles.

The Hannah Montana actor recently called off his planned divorced from wife of 17 years Tish and claimed that he has also made amends with daughter Miley for publicly criticising her lifestyle.

Billy Ray has subsequently expressed his belief that most people can relate to a family trying to work through personal conflicts.

"I've been through a lot. That being said, I think people around the world can look at my life and say, `That guy is kind of just like us - peaks and valleys, ups and downs'. That's what I've lived," The AP quotes him as saying.

"Somewhere along the line, I think I just realised that the key to life for me and for everybody on this planet, it's not about how many times you get knocked down, it's about how many times you get back up. Everybody has adversities. Everybody has crossroads."

Billy Ray previously suggested that the rigours of fame can be dangerous.

I'm American, his 12th studio album, is now available for purchase in the US and on July 18 in the UK.
