Sir Ian McKellen snubbed Jodie Kidd when she asked him for an autograph, the model has claimed.

The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant spoke to Sir McKellen at a film premiere, but said that she was "disappointed" when she met the Lord of the Rings star in real life.

"My niece was a huge fan of Gandalf," Kidd told The Daily Telegraph. "So I asked him if he'd mind signing the tickets, but he got very stroppy and said, 'no'.

"It would have made a little girl's life, so I was a bit like, 'bugger you'."

McKellen, who will reprise the role of Gandalf in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit films, was recently mistaken for a tramp in Melbourne, Australia.
