Salma Hayek's husband 'is father of Linda Evangelista son'

Salma Hayek's billionaire husband has reportedly been confirmed as the father of supermodel Linda Evangelista's son.

François-Henri Pinault was revealed in a paternity suit at Manhattan's magistrates court to have fathered a child with ex-lover Evangelista in 2006, around the same time he entered into a relationship with the Frida actress.

Pinault, who is the chief executive of French holding company PPR, got both Pinault and Hayek pregnant in the same year, but chose to distance himself from the former's son Augustine James, now four. Hayek gave birth to their daughter Valentina in September 2007.

A source who claimed to have seen documents filed in the paternity suit explained: "In the filing, it says the child 'was born out of wedlock to [petitioner] Linda Evangelista, 46, and that [Pinault] acknowledged [her] allegation.It says, 'It is decided that Pinault is the father of [Evangelista's son], Augustin James'."

"All that's left is for a magistrate to go over the father's filings and make a determination of support, which will last until the child is 21," the source added to People.

Evangelista has been accused of protecting Pinault by creating an elaborate backstory regarding the identity of the child's father, previously naming the man as an unknown "New York architect".
