The Larry Crowne star named the X-Men: First Class actor as his best-smelling co-star to date in an interview with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show.
"On Apollo 13 we were really jammed in there," Hanks said when asked which of his movie co-stars smelled the best. "[Bacon] smells like a mix of baby powder and Listerine."
Bacon responded to the compliment with laughter, according to USA Today.
"He said I'm the best-smelling actor? Oh my God, that's fantastic," Bacon said. "Only Hanks could come up with that. If that was off the top of his head, that's pretty brilliant."
Hanks recently revealed that he felt compelled to direct Larry Crowne, describing the movie as a personal letter.
The Forrest Gump actor also credited Julia Roberts with keeping the cast and crew of Larry Crowne in high spirits during the film's production, stating that she inspired her co-workers.
