Pink reveals reason behind daughter Willow's name

Pink has revealed the inspiration behind her new daughter's name, Willow Sage.

The 'So What' singer and husband Carey Hart welcomed their first child together last month, and she has since described the child as "perfect".

Pink claimed in a new interview with People that she named her daughter after the characteristics she hopes the baby will grow up to have.

"The willow is my favourite tree. I grew up near one. It's the most flexible tree in nature and nothing can break it - no wind, no elements," she explained. "It can bend and withstand anything. I love that sentiment. I want that for her.

"Sage is cleansing and sacred. And it sounded great together. It doesn't hurt that her last name is Hart - flexible cleansed heart."

Pink recently confessed that she had been looking forward to giving birth naturally, though she was eventually forced to undergo a Caesarean section because of Willow's breach positioning.
