The annual comedy roasts have become notorious for risqué humour, but Sheen's ex-wife Mueller is apparently insisting that she remain "completely off-limits" as a potential target of humour during the telecast.
A source close to Mueller's lawyers claimed to TMZ that Sheen could be in violation of the couple's divorce settlement if Comedy Central broadcasts any jokes about his former spouse's alleged drug use.
Mueller concluded a 45-day stint in an outpatient treatment programme last week. She had entered rehab in April after refusing to submit to a random drug test.
A Comedy Central rep claimed that neither Sheen nor the network will put any restrictions on the content of the programme, saying: "Charlie has assured us that nothing will be off-limits in this roast, which scares even us."
Comedy Central announced yesterday that Sheen's roast will air on September 19, the same evening that Ashton Kutcher will debut on Two and a Half Men.
Hugh Hefner, Pamela Anderson, William Shatner and Donald Trump have been the subjects of previous Comedy Central Roasts.
