Paris Hilton: 'I'd hoped to be married by 30'

Paris Hilton has lamented that she has been unable to fulfil her life-long dream of marrying and having children by age 30.

The World According To Paris star, who recently split from boyfriend Cy Waits after more than a year of dating, expressed disappointment that her life hasn't turned out the way she had always hoped.

Hilton told Life & Style magazine: "When I was a little girl, I always imagined I'd be married with kids by now. It's not where I thought I'd be. I'm 30, and I'm by myself."

Hilton went to say that she has mixed feelings about showcasing so much of her personal life on her series The World According To Paris, but said that the footage was useful in helping her evaluate her romance with Waits.

"By watching the show, I got an outside perspective of our relationship… I realised that yes, I love him and he's one of my best friends, but I needed to make sure he was the one," she said. "When I realised I wasn't certain, I knew I had to end it."

In spite of her recent romantic woes, Hilton said that she remains hopeful that she will be "married and pregnant in two to five years".

The socialite was recently spotted on a date with Hangover Part II director Todd Phillips at Hollywood's Beacher's Madhouse nightclub .

The World According To Paris airs Wednesdays on Oxygen.
