The Jackass star postponed several gigs in June when Dunn and fellow passenger Zachary Hartwell were killed in a drink-driving accident in Pennsylvania.
Steve-O, who is currently in the UK to promote a series of live gigs, revealed to Daybreak that Dunn was one of the biggest supporters of his burgeoning comedy career.
"It's still really soon but I'm definitely gonna give it hell and I'm gonna do everything I can to make Ryan proud," Steve-O said. "Ryan came out to see my stand-up and he told me he was absolutely shocked at how funny my show was. Out of the Jackass guys he was the biggest supporter of my stand up. It's time to do it."
Following Dunn's death, Steve-O joined his fellow Jackass stars in remembering their fallen friend.
Steve-O is to take the stage tonight at London's Indigo2 venue and will also be appearing at the Sonisphere music festival at Knebworth House this weekend.
