Bow Wow: 'Baby daughter is a blessing'

Bow Wow has described his baby daughter as "a blessing".

The rapper - real name Shad Moss - revealed that he had secretly fathered a child with an unnamed woman on his official blog this week.

"I waited so long to tell y'all the truth because I was nervous on how y'all would look at me. Y'all know everyone makes a big deal out of everything I do. I wanted to be 1st n let y'all know the real (sic)," he wrote.

Bow Wow has since told US Weekly that he is inspired to be a good father to the little girl as his own father was absent from his youth, a pattern that he does not want to repeat.

"Being that my father was never in my life, this just makes me want to give her everything I wished my father had given me. She's a blessing," he explained.

Bow Wow previously insisted that he wanted his daughter to grow up outside of the public spotlight, writing on his website: "[I] want her to be able to cheerlead with her lil friends with out some asshole sticking his camera all in my lil girl face.

"I know how fame is. I missed out on so much that I now know how important it is to cherish and have those things in your life."
