Landlord Mike Craig recently purchased Lennon's Bar in Dundee, Scotland, which is decorated with memorabilia celebrating the 'Imagine' singer and The Beatles.
He received a legal letter from Ono and lawyers for The Beatles' firm Apple ordering him to rename the pub and take down all Beatles merchandise within two weeks, The Scottish Sun reports.
Craig branded the order "ridiculous", saying that the venue had been called Lennon's Bar for "about five years".
The bar owner has, however, agreed to remove all Beatles mementos and change the name to avoid a costly lawsuit.
A rep for Apple's legal team declined to comment.
Since Lennon's death in 1980, Ono has licensed her husband's image to be used on various products, including T-shirts, calendars and games.
A former rep for Lennon recently denied claims made in a new documentary that the musician became a staunch political conservative in the last few years of his life.
