Miranda Kerr 'named baby after late ex-boyfriend'

Miranda Kerr has revealed that her son Flynn Christopher was named after her childhood sweetheart who died in a tragic car accident.

The Victoria's Secret model, who gave birth to her first child with husband Orlando Bloom seven months ago, explained that she promised that her first-born would bear her ex-boyfriend's name.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Kerr said that her former lover Christopher Middlebrook died in a car crash when he was just a teenager, adding: "After he died, I wrote him a letter that said I hoped to name my first child after him in some way."

Kerr added that Bloom - who she married in July 2010 - was "happy" to use the name.

The 28-year-old also recently said how she thought she would "die" while giving labour.

She commented: "I actually thought I was going to die at one point and left my body. I kept thinking, 'How do women do this?' But if other women have done this, I can do it too. I was determined."
