Peter Andre: 'My parents told me not to marry Katie Price'

Peter Andre has admitted that his parents advised him not to marry Katie Price.

The singer - who divorced the former glamour model in 2009 after three-and-a-half years of marriage - explained that his mum and dad never wanted him to wed.

When asked what has been the best piece of advice he has ever received, Andre replied to Bang Showbiz: "Don't get married. It's the truth isn't it? They told me that before I got married, they tell me that now. It's the best bit of advice, I guess?"

The 38-year-old said that he is now offering his own wisdom to his and Price's two kids, Junior, 6, and 4-year-old Princess Tiaamii.

He commented: "[I've told them] to love their mother and father, that's the best advice I could ever give them."

Andre, who is currently single after splitting from Elen Rivas, also confessed that he doesn't feel confident about dating.

He added: "I'm not very good at giving dating advice, hello, I'm single, I just kind of find out what they [the girls] like. For example if someone comes up and says to me, 'I really like a guy, do I dress up over the top and make a really big effort?'

"And as a guy I personally wouldn't like that, I'd prefer it if a girl was in her trackies. I'm not great at giving dating advice, I just know what I like."
