Rick Springfield: 'My mugshot's better than Nick Nolte's'

Rick Springfield has remained good-natured about his recent DUI arrest, joking that he is fond of his mugshot.

The 'Jessie's Girl' rocker was taken into custody in May on suspicion of drunk driving after failing a sobriety test issued during a routine stop in Los Angeles.

Springfield pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge earlier this month.

Talking to The Huffington Post, Springfield downplayed the seriousness of the case, saying: "I have seen my mugshot. It's way better than Nick Nolte's. I'm thinking of going back, cause I liked the lighting so much, and doing a shoot."

Springfield is due back in court on August 15. His blood alcohol level was reported to have registered 0.10%, which is over the 0.08% limit set in California.
