Junior Bradshaw, 30, and Kevin Liverpool, 33, from St Stephen's Close, Manchester, were remanded in custody at Exeter Crown Court earlier today.
The men were charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and rob the singer last month. Police later found notes detailing plans to "rob and kill" Stone and "find a river to dump her in".
The pair did not enter any pleas and will next appear in court on October 24. At a previous hearing, it was reported that police found weapons including a Samurai sword, a body bag, notes and rope in their car.
Stone did not appear in court, but her mother Wendy sat in the public gallery. Stone insisted that she was "fine" soon after the incident.
She recently commented that the kidnap plot made her life "more interesting".
Stone is currently working with new supergroup SuperHeavy with Mick Jagger, Eurythmics mastermind Dave Stewart, reggae artist Damian Marley and soundtrack composer AR Rahman.
