Andy Whyment is to marry his nursing student girlfriend Nichola Willis.
The 26-year-old, who plays Coronation Street's Kirk Sutherland, is planning the wedding for next summer.
Willis met the actor over two years ago in Manchester. "We really hit it off," she commented. "After we were together for a few months I thought about marriage and babies but we wanted to live with each other first."
A friend of the couple spoke to the News of the World. "Andy's smitten with Nichola. They're great together and they're blissfully happy," he revealed. "They're both pretty broody too so expect to hear the patter of tiny feet soon after the wedding."
A Corrie spokeswoman confirmed the news but said the pair had agreed a magazine detail, so she could say no more.
