Paris Hilton 'intruder' denies stalking charges

A man has pleaded not guilty to charges of stalking hotel heiress Paris Hilton, despite several previous arrests relating to the reality star.

James Rainford faces two felony stalking charges and three misdemeanours for disobeying court orders to stay away from Hilton, and could face up to five years' imprisonment if found guilty.

Rainford has been arrested on three separate occasions over the past 12 months in incidents relating to Hilton.

He was first arrested back in October 2010 after sneaking past security at Hilton's California home and knocking on her door, before being jailed in April this year after attacking Hilton's ex-boyfriend Cy Waits outside a courtroom.

Then, on July 4, Rainford was reported to police by paparazzi photographers after he was spotted outside Hilton's Malibu home, a violation of the restraining order which prevents him coming within 200 yards of the socialite.

According to the Associated Press, Rainford entered a not guilty plea in court on Friday in Los Angeles.

Rainford is currently in jail with his bail set at $150,000.
