Ricky Martin: "My children are a miracle"

Ricky Martin has opened up about being a father.

The 'Livin' La Vida Loca' musician has two sons, 2-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino.

Martin told Metro: "One day, I woke up and thought, 'I need to become a father'. So I sat in front of the computer, looked up parenting and came across surrogacy - and it's beautiful.

"My children are a miracle. They're here because I really wanted them in my life... they were wished for and came to me."

Martin also responded to criticism about taking his children on tour with him.

"People say it's not good travelling with them, they need stability. Daddy is their stability," he argued. "Besides, at that age, what's normal? Everything's new.

"I'm lucky in that my mother is with me. She has an apartment near my house. She comes in the morning and spends time with the kids."

Martin recently revealed that he found coming out to his fans and the press easier than to his family, adding that his father told him to "go out there and be free and happy".
