The rapper, real name Earl Simmons, was serving time for probation violation after admitting to drinking alcohol during a concert in Scottsdale, Arizona.
He had originally received probation for attempted assault and using a fake name to avoid paying a $7,500 (£4,652) hospital bill.
Simmons was met by his manager Nakai Walker after stepping out of the prison in Yuma, Arizona.
"His first words to me were, 'I'm home'," Walker told Reuters. "I can tell you one thing, he's not going to be going back there [to prison] again."
She added that he had called his wife after his release and hopes to see his 2-month old daughter next week.
In relation to new material from the rapper, she added: "His latest project has been on hold for so long. It is now time for X to redefine the world of hip-hop with his highly-anticipated album of inspirational, painful & street-accredited rhymes. It is time to let the dog out of the kennel."
