Vanessa Hudgens: 'I like being single'

Vanessa Hudgens has said that while she enjoys looking at "cute boys", she is enjoying being single.

The actress, who separated from High School Musical co-star Zac Efron after five years in December 2010, explained that she is focusing on her career.

Hudgens told E! News: "I think it's really important to love yourself and truly just be happy with yourself and just kind of let the rest of it fall into place.

"It is fun to go look at cute boys. But at the same time, I like being single. I feel like I have all this time for myself to be able to do these roles."

The 22-year-old will be seen next in movie Gimme Shelter where she plays a homeless pregnant teenager.

Hudgens chopped off her long locks for her forthcoming film and admitted that losing her hair was "really intense".
