Earlier today, a statement was posted on the Scrubs star's website in which he seemingly announced that he was homosexual.
"I have been hiding a secret inside me for too long," read the statement. "The human mind can only bear so much before it explodes in emotions, and well... it is time to let the world know. I am excited and proud to announce that I am an open member of the homosexual community."
However, Braff's rep told TMZ that the website had been hacked and that the statement in question was fake.
Braff responded to the false post via Facebook, confirming that he is in fact heterosexual.
"My old website got hacked," Braff wrote. "Someone issued a 'coming out' statement on my behalf. I'm still straight and in love with my girlfriend. But not too straight; I still love musicals, brunch and Doogie Howser."
In May, the actor confessed that he misses the camaraderie that came with working on Scrubs.
Braff recently signed on for a supporting role in Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and Powerful, joining James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams.
