Ryan Giggs is a good rapper, says Rio Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand has revealed that his Manchester United team-mate Ryan Giggs is a decent rapper.

The defender joked that Giggs is surprisingly good at "old-school rapping" when the team are celebrating victories with a microphone.

"Giggsy's not bad on the mic but he doesn't sing - he raps," Ferdinand said during a press conference for Manchester United's US tour.

"When we win, we sing at parties and Giggsy gets hold of the mic and does some old-school rapping. It's funny. 'Rapper's Delight' [by the Sugarhill Gang] is his usual song."

Ferdinand added that Wayne Rooney is the best singer in the team, saying: "Wazza fancies himself as a singer. I can't sing.

"I used to sing when I was a kid. I used to be in school plays. But singing's not my game. Not at all."

Giggs recently sued News of the World for alleged phone-hacking. He was previously named in Parliament as the footballer who was having an affair with Imogen Thomas.

Ferdinand recently joked that he may have become a Belieber - a follower of teen pop sensation Justin Bieber.
