Vanessa Minnillo: 'Nick Lachey chose my wedding look'

Vanessa Minnillo has revealed that new husband Nick Lachey was responsible for choosing her wedding look.

The couple married earlier this month in a ceremony held on Necker Island, which they later described as the "perfect" location for the event.

Minnillo told People that while the big day went smoothly, she had previously struggled to choose a gown and hairstyle that would be suitable for walking down the aisle and eventually turned to Lachey for help.

"I probably had half a dozen fittings and I was just so lost. I finally decided to ask Nick and said, 'What do you want to see me in when you marry me and I become Mrs Lachey?' I thought I would get some generic guys' answer but he sat up in bed and told me he loved me with my hair down… and wanted me in something traditional but with a modern flair," Minnillo recalled.

She later purchased her dress at Monique Lhuillier's Los Angeles boutique and said that she felt confident in her choice, adding: "I knew it [was the dress] because of the conversation I had with Nick. It just felt so right and I felt so beautiful in it."

Lachey recently said that Minnillo 'took his breath away' upon seeing her on their wedding day.

The wedding will be televised in the TLC special Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding, which premieres July 30 from 9-11pm ET/PT.
