Charlie Sheen will always be in my life, says Denise Richards

Denise Richards has insisted that Charlie Sheen will always be part of her life.

The Wild Things actress married Sheen in 2002, though the couple divorced only three years later. They are parents to two daughters, 7-year-old Lola and 6-year-old Sam.

Richards revealed in an interview with US Weekly that she continues to contact Sheen for the sake of their children, as she does not want the girls to grow up without their father.

"I'll never cut off contact with Charlie. He's my girls' dad. As they're older they'll deal with him how they can," she explained.

"A lot of women can't relate to being married to Charlie Sheen or divorcing Charlie Sheen but they can relate to feeling sad, angry, scared and upset."

Richards has described Sheen as a "survivor" and said that she believes he could still turn his life around.

She recently adopted a newborn baby girl called Eloise Joni, who she later revealed was named after her late mother Joni.
