David Beckham to launch new clothing range

David Beckham has announced the launch of a new clothes range for men.

The LA Galaxy footballer has signed a long-term partnership with H&M and will bring his "bodywear line" to around 1,800 stores in 50 countries worldwide from February 2.

Beckham said: "Over the past year, I've been developing my Bodywear range with my team and I'm extremely positive about what we have designed and produced.

"The final piece in the jigsaw was a retail partner who has the vision and capability to distribute these products globally. In H&M we have found the perfect partner to collaborate with going forward."

Beckham's business partner Simon Fuller added: "This partnership with H&M is an important step in the evolution of David's journey from sporting hero to entrepreneur and icon.

"H&M's enthusiasm and support for this venture, combined with their scale and reach, will continue to enhance the power of David's image around the world."

Beckham was first reported to have signed a clothing range deal in early 2010. His ex-Spice Girl wife Victoria is herself a fashion designer and claims that she gets advice on clothes from her husband.
