Halle Berry alleged stalker charged with felony burglary

A man accused of stalking Halle Berry has been formally charged with two counts of felony burglary for breaking into her guesthouse.

Richard A Franco appeared in an LA court on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to attempting to illegally enter Berry's property on three occasions earlier this month.

A judge had already granted the actress a restraining order against Franco to prevent him from contacting her if he is eventually freed on bail.

Berry previously said in court documents that Franco had "invaded and trampled upon [her] most fundamental sense of security" by attempting to trespass on her property.

Franco reportedly has an extensive criminal record and was recently released from serving prison time on a battery conviction.

He has been ordered to return to court for another hearing on August 4, The AP reports.
